
You probably didn’t know that those colorful smoothies that you’ve been having (eating, drinking??) can be used as a cleanse. Yup, it’s true! And I can tell you from personal experience that they are some of the most enjoyable cleanses EVER! Smoothies are amazing for cleansing for a few reasons. First and foremost, because you are getting a pre-digested boost of all-natural fiber into your system that will move things along quite nicely! This is the BEST cleanse in terms of digestion, if your problem with your plumbing is due to poor fiber intake in the forms of fruits and vegetables. The fact that everything is pre-digested is giving your stomach much less to do. Andddd the fact that it is so absolutely delicious! The variety of tastes and even texture of the different types of fruits all mixed together really make your tongue want to sing a Calogero song (French joke! – look him up, he’s awesome!). What I get asked a lot about smoothies is what is the best recipe base? This is one of my favorites! Customizable Green Smoothie Base 1 banana 1 cup of berries (any type, not dehydrated like goji) 1 cup of sweet fruit (mango and/or pineapple are my favorites) 1 packed cup of your favorite greens (spinach, chard, kale!) water to desired consistency Let me break this recipe down real quick so you understand my logic. I always add bananas to my smoothies for sweetness. You want to make sure that all of your fruit are ripe before eating them so that you get the most sweetness and nutrition.
